Abstract composition, a rectangular column is carved on four sides, front in relief shows a distorted figure with one highly upraised leg. Twisting posture, face with one large eye turned looking backward. Back and sides are carved abstractly with large geometric and avoid forms supported by strait vertical shapes.

The elegant women are all tall svelte abstract female figures with curving hips and narrow waists. They are distinct particularly for their lyrics serpentine line, which flows about the form, and for their posture, and proportion, which emphasizes their height. Their legs are never separate and join or flow into a small base with no defined feet. The elegant women were all carved in 1981-1982. Laminated blank, wide rectangular base, very wide hips with very narrow waist. Long hair flowing down back.
